Women return home to host McKendree, Jewell

The Rockhurst women return home this week to host two conference opponents at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks face McKendree at 5:15 tonight and meet inter-city rival William Jewell on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.

The Hawks (1-4, 0-1 GLVC) are coming off an 82-64 loss at Truman State last Saturday. Guard Keegan Sullivan leads the team in scoring (16.6 pg), rebounding (8.4 pg) and assists (3.0 pg).

McKendree (5-0, 1-0 GLVC) defeated Maryville, 79-69, last Saturday. The Bearcats are averaging 88.8 points per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field.

Rockhurst leads the all-time series, 8-5. McKendree won their las meeting, 68-55, last season in Lebanon, Illinois.

William Jewell (1-4, 0-0 GLVC) fell 82-60 to Wayne State (Neb.) College last Wednesday. The Cardinals open conference play at home against Illinois Springfield tonight.

Jewell holds a 17-16 lead in the all-time series. Rockhurst has won five of the last six meetings. The Hawks won their most recent meeting, 89-81, last season at Jewell.
