Winning streak halted at Southwest Baptist

The Rockhurst women's volleyball team fell short of winning their 10th consecutive match, dropping the fifth set in a 3-2 loss to Southwest Baptist Friday night in Bolivar, Missouri.

SBU won the fifth set, 17-15, to post its first victory over Rockhurst in more than two decades. The Bearcats captured the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-21. The Hawks rallied to win the next two sets, 25-23 and 25-22.

Chloe Tyrrell led the Hawks with 17 kills and seven digs. Tera Reberry collected 16 kills and four blocks. Sarah Pyle posted 15 kills and 15 digs. Alyssa McDonald added 15 kills and three blocks.

Maureen Reilly had a team-high 24 digs. Sarah Montague and Molly Trachta combined for 58 assists and 25 digs.

Rockhurst finished with 70 kills, 83 digs and 11 team blocks. The Hawks (17-6, 8-3 GLVC) play at Drury on Saturday at 3 p.m.
