Women open conference play this week

The Rockhurst women tip off conference play on Saturday (1 p.m.) at Truman State. Before traveling to Kirksville, the Hawks will host the Park Pirates tonight at 5:30.

The Hawks (0-3) are playing their first game since falling to 13th-ranked Pittsburg State on Nov. 15. Guard Keegan Sullivan, who posted 23 points vs. Pittsburg State, leads the team in scoring (19.0 pg) and rebounding (9.7 pg).

Park (4-3) is coming off a 55-48 victory over William Penn on Saturday. Junior guard Nadiyah Cooper is averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game.

Rockhurst has won the last two meetings with Park, including an 80-55 win last year at Rockhurst.

Truman State (3-4) posted an 80-48 victory over Newman on Tuesday and plays Arkansas-Fort Smith today in the Drury Thanksgiving Classic. Junior guard Molly Joyce leads the Bulldogs with a 17.7 scoring average.

The Hawks defeated Truman, 88-67, last January in Kansas City. Truman leads the all-time series, 20-10.
