Balanced attack leads Hawks past Pirates

Five players scored in double figures to lead Rockhurst to an 83-68 victory over the Park Pirates Wednesday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 25-14 lead after the first period behind 69.2 percent shooting. Rockhurst led 64-46 going into the fourth period and went up 72-48 lead with seven minutes left to play.

Chloe Frank led the Hawks with 15 points while canning three 3-pointers. She scored 10 points in the first half as Rockhurst took a 40-32 lead into halftime.

Rebeca Garcia and Clare Diener each posted 13 points and six rebounds. Keegan Sullivan tallied 12 points, three rebounds and three assists. Ella Campbell added 12 points on four 3-pointers.

Rockhurst shot 46.7 percent (28-of-60) from the floor and 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the foul line. The Pirates outrebounded the Hawks, 41-34.
