Big run carries Hawks to 69-60 win over Quincy

Rockhurst scored 12 unanswered points in the second half in pulling away for a 69-60 victory Quincy Wednesday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks rallied from a 43-35 deficit to take a 54-47 lead with seven minutes left to play. Rockhurst outscored Quincy 34-17 over the final 14 minutes.

Ali Kamies led the Hawks with 16 points, four assists and four steals. Macie Conway posted 11 points, three assists and three steals.

Rebeca Garcia tallied 10 points and five rebounds. Keegan Sullivan collected nine points, eight rebounds and three steals. Alivia McCulla added seven rebounds and two steals.

The Hawks shot 34.8 percent from the field (24-of-69) and 85.7 percent from the foul line (18-of-21). Rockhurst scored 26 points off 30 Quincy turnovers.

Quincy (4-9, 3-4 GLVC) made 23-of-62 field goals (37.1 percent). Mariann Blass led the Hawks with 16 points.

Rockhurst (7-3, 4-2 GLVC) plays at Drury on Saturday.
