Big runs carry Hawks past Truman State, 88-67

The Rockhurst women remain unbeaten at home after scoring the first 16 points in the fourth period to pull away for an 88-67 victory over Truman State Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks led 36-28 at halftime and went on an 11-0 run in the third period to take a 59-35 lead. Maryville ended the third period on a 12-0 run to cut Rockhurst's lead to 12 points.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 17 points and eight rebounds. Akili Felici scored a career-high 16 points on five-of-seven shooting. The senior guard made four-of-six 3-pointers.

Macie Conway tallied 12 of her 14 points in the second half. Rebeca Garcia posted nine points and six rebounds. Addison Bent added six points and five rebounds.

The Hawks shot 47.0 percent from the field (31-of-66) and 43.3 percent from behind the 3-point line (13-of-30).

Truman State (4-13, 1-10 GLVC) made 21-of-49 field goals (42.9 percent) and 20-of-27 free throws (74.1 percent). Molly Joyce led the Bulldogs with 19 points and five steals.

Rockhurst (10-6, 7-5 GLVC) hosts Upper Iowa on Saturday.
