Free throws lift Maryville past Hawks

Five players scored in double figures to lead Maryville to a 96-60 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Saints jumped out to a 43-26 halftime lead. Maryville outscored the Hawks 53-34 in the second half while hitting 23-of-30 free throws.

Macie Conway led the Hawks with 11 points and three rebounds. Keegan Sullivan posted seven points and 11 rebounds.

Sophie Leinfelder scored seven points. Allison McFarren and Ella Campbell combined for 12 points and four 3-point field goals.

The Hawks shot 32.4 percent from the field (22-of-68) and 66.7 percent from the foul line (eight-of-12).

Maryville (9-8, 6-5 GLVC) made 27-of-63 field goals (42.9 percent) and 34-of-42 free throws (81.0 percent). Antoinette Mussorici led the Saints with 23 points and six assists.

Rockhurst (9-6, 6-5 GLVC) returns home to host Truman State on Thursday.
