Hawks suffer road loss at Missouri S&T

Missouri S&T dominated the second quarter on the way to a 74-60 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night in Rolla, Missouri.

The Miners grabbed a 39-25 lead behind a 9-0 run in the second quarter. S&T led 45-30 at halftime and never let Rockhurst get closer than nine in the second half.

Macie Conway led the Hawks with 18 points and five rebounds. She connected on seven-of-16 field goals.

Allison McFarren posted 12 points and five rebounds. Ali Kamies added eight points and three assists. Keegan Sullivan had a team-high seven rebounds.

The Hawks shot 31.5 percent from the field (23-of-73) and 52.9 percent from the foul line (nine-of-17).

S&T (4-14, 1-9 GLVC) made 27-of-59 field goals (45.8 percent). Katelynn Roberts led the Miners with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Rockhurst (9-5, 6-4 GLVC) plays at Maryville on Saturday.
