Rockhurst ends road trip with 1-0 loss

The Rockhurst women's soccer team ended their first conference road trip with a 1-0 loss to Lewis Sunday afternoon in Romeoville, Illinois.

Lewis scored the winning goal in the 21st minute on a five-yard shot by Melisa Hadzic off a right cross.

Rockhurst outshot the Flyers, 22-14. The Hawks had six shots in the first half and 16 shots in the second half. Five of their shots were stopped by the Lewis keeper, including a penalty kick in the 56th minute.

Cameron Murphy led the Hawks with four shots. Olivia Van Belle posted three shots and two shots on goal. Sarah Gilmore added three shots. Taylor James finished with three saves.

Rockhurst (3-3-2, 1-2-1 GLVC) return home to play Missouri S&T on Friday.
