Hawks notch 2-0 win over No. 13 McKendree

The Rockhurst women's soccer team kicked off the conference season with a 2-0 victory over 13th-ranked McKendree Friday night at Bourke Field.

Junior defender Jacqueline Nieters opened the scoring when she knocked in a shot from five yards out in the ninth minute. Anna Lantz assisted on Nieters' first career goal.

Freshman midfielder Jacie Tottleben gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead on a shot from 12 yards out with assists from Ellie Kimball and Lantz.

McKendree outshot the Bearcats, 14-6. The Hawks posted three shots in each half.

Kimball led the Hawks with two shots. Junior goalkeeper Taylor James collected four saves.

Rockhurst (3-1-1, 1-0 GLVC) host Missouri-St. Louis at noon Sunday.
