Rockhurst grabs 13-12 overtime win over Griffons

Carolyn Byrd scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Rockhurst a 13-12 victory over Missouri Western Thursday night at Bourke Field.

Byrd's goal came off a free position shot with 44 seconds left in the first overtime. It was Byrd's third goal of the game.

Logan Derosia led the Hawks with five goals on six shots. Addison Bradley scored two goals on three shots. Christine Corbin, Reagan Danner and Kelly Marion each scored one goal.

Corbin collected four draw controls and two caused turnovers. Audrey Titzer tallied three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Marion added four draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Rockhurst finished with 27 shots and 21 ground balls. Sydney Shindler collected 15 saves and eight ground balls.

The Hawks (7-3, 1-0 GLVC) travel to Quincy on Saturday.
