Women clinch third seed with win at Quincy

The Rockhurst women's tennis team clinched the West Division's third seed in the GLVC Tournament after posting a 4-2 victory at Quincy on Saturday night.

The Hawks (10-10, 3-2 GLVC) will face the East's second-seeded Lewis Flyers (12-6, 3-1 GLVC) in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday at 9 a.m. ET in Indianapolis.

After falling behind 1-0 in doubles at Quincy, Rockhurst went 4-1 in singles play. Martyna Jankowska, Dani Lentisco and Dina Dudic won in two sets in No. 3, 4 and 6 singles. Marina Magai captured her No. 2 singles match in a third set tie-breaker.

Jankowska and Lentisco won their No. 2 doubles match, 7-6 (11-9). Quincy won No. 1 and 3 doubles, 6-4 and 7-6 (11-9).

On Friday, the Hawks posted a 7-0 victory at Truman State. Rockhurst won all six singles matches in straight sets, while sweeping the three doubles matches by a combined 18-8 score.
