The Rockhurst offense erupted for 12 hits in posting a 7-4 victory over Missouri Western in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Griffons won the second game, 4-3.

Game One: RU 7, Missouri Western 4  
Jayla Pierce sparked the Hawks with a two-run home run over the center field fence in the third inning. The Hawks also scored two runs in the fourth and added three runs in the fifth.

• Pierce led the Hawks with three hits, two RBIs and two runs.  

• Jaden Santoni and Clare Reinhart each had two hits.
• Avery Huffman homered to right center to send Allison Shakiba to score.  

Game Two: Missouri Western 4, RU 3
The Griffons rallied behind a two-run home run in the fifth while holding the Hawks scoreless over the final three innings.  

• Alexis Enslinger drove in RU's first two runs with a single through the left side to score Cheyenne Minnick and Calli Wibbenmeyer.

• Anna Newcomer (2-5) allowed four runs on five hits in 5.0 innings.
