Hawks return to the road against UIS and Lewis

Freshman Maci Conway is the third leading scorer for the Hawks.
The Rockhurst women's basketball team travels to Illinois this week for a pair of demanding road tests and hope to keep their two-game win streak alive.

Coach Larry Park's team faces Illinois Springfield on Thursday (5:30 p.m.) and Lewis on Saturday (1 p.m.).

Rockhurst (11-13, 6-10 GLVC) is currently in 11th place in the GLVC Point Rating System. The Hawks rank seventh in scoring offense (68.6 pg) and eighth in scoring defense (67.6 pg) in the GLVC.

Junior guard Keegan Sullivan leads the team in scoring (15.7 pg, ninth in GLVC). Senior forward Molly Hummel ranks seventh in rebounding (7.2 pg) in the GLVC.

Illinois Springfield (3-21, 3-13 GLVC) is coming off an 81-59 win to Quincy on Saturday. The Prairie Stars got the best of the Hawks earlier this season with an 84-71 victory. UIS is led by sophomore guard Ariyah Douglas, who ranks third in scoring in the GLVC, averaging 16.7 points per game.

Lewis (16-8, 12-4 GLVC) plays Southwest Baptist Thursday night before hosting the Hawks on Saturday. This will be the first meeting of the season between the Hawks and Flyers. Lewis is led by Kathryn Schmidt, who ranks eighth in scoring (15.7 pg) in the GLVC.
