The Rockhurst softball team went 1-1 on Saturday with an 8-0 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State and a 3-0 loss to Oklahoma Baptist on the final day of the MSU Round-Up in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Hawks went 2-2 overall on the weekend.

Game One: Rockhurst 8, SW Oklahoma 0 (5 inn.)

The Hawks scored in every inning but the fourth and initiated the eight-run rule after five innings to end the game early.

• Junior right-hander Anna Newcomer allowed one hit over 5.0 innings. 

• Maya Gallagher had two runs, two hits and one RBI.

• Jayla Pierce tallied three hits, two RBIs and one run.

Game Two: Oklahoma Baptist 3, Rockhurst 0  

Oklahoma Baptist shut out the Hawks on five hits. The Bison scored single runs in the first, second and fifth innings. 

• Gwen Bostick and Allison Shakiba led the Hawk with two hits apiece.

• Bre Barchak allowed seven hits over 4.2 innings.

• Maya Gallagher walked twice.

The Hawks (2-2) are back in action at the Washburn Invitational this weekend in Topeka, Kansas.
