The Rockhurst softball team combined for 20 runs while finishing with a 1-4 record at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kansas last weekend.
Game One: Nebraska Kearney 6, RU 4
The Lopers were held scoreless after the fourth inning as the Hawks rallied from a 6-0 deficit.
Game Two: RU 6, Newman 3
Rockhurst struck first in the third, scoring three runs grab a 3-0 lead. Rockhurst added three more runs in the fifth.
Game Three: Fort Hays State 2, RU 0
Fort Hays State recorded its third straight shutout overall behind the pitching of Savannah Egger.
Game Four: St. Cloud State 9, RU 3
St. Cloud jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth before the Hawks scored two runs in the fifth.
Game 5: NW Missouri State 12, RU 7
The Bearcats scored eight runs in the third on the way to posting 18 hits off three RU pitchers.
