Bench play leads Hawks to 82-50 win over Jewell

Nine players came off the bench to combine for 47 points to lead the Rockhurst women's basketball team to an 82-50 victory over William Jewell Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks took a 37-24 lead into halftime and outscored Jewell 45-26 in the second half. Rockhurst outrebounded the Cardinals, 49-27, and scored 20 points off Jewell turnovers.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 18 points on eight-of-16 shooting with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Rebeca Garcia and Nora Ford combined for 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Freshman Ella Campbell scored nine points on three 3-pointers.

Macie Conway tallied eight points and Lani Thompson added seven points. Ali Kamies posted seven rebounds and four assists. Kaitlyn Kennedy chipped in four rebounds and three steals.

The Hawks shot 41.9 percent from the field (26-of-62) and 75.0 percent from the foul line (18-of-24).

Jewell (2-8, 1-4 GLVC) made 14-of-50 field goals (28.0 percent) and 16-of-25 free throws (64.0 percent). Emree Zars led the Cardinals with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Rockhurst (3-3, 3-2 GLVC) hosts Missouri Valley next Saturday.
