Sullivan goes over 1,000 career points in loss at SBU

Keegan Sullivan went over 1,000 career points as the Rockhurst women's basketball team fell to Southwest Baptist, 71-50, Thursday night in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Bearcats jumped out to a 35-21 lead at halftime. Sullivan scored seven points in the third quarter while SBU took a 17-point lead into the fourth period.

Sullivan led the Hawks with 16 points on seven-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds and two blocks. The senior forward increased her career scoring to 1,010 points.

Macie Conway, Kaitlyn Kennedy, Akili Felici and Nora Ford combined for 20 points and four steals.

The Hawks scored 24 points in the paint and 14 points off turnovers. Rockhurst shot 31.1 percent from the field (19-of-61) and 52.9 percent from the foul line (nine-of-17).

SBU (4-5, 1-3 GLVC) made 29-of-68 field goals (42.6 percent) and nine-of-14 free throws (64.3 percent). Bianca Oliver led the Bearcats with 14 points.

Rockhurst (2-3, 2-2 GLVC) returns home to play William Jewell at noon Saturday.
