Fast start leads Hawks past Park, 80-45

Thirteen players combined for 27 field goals to lead Rockhurst to an 80-45 victory over the Park Pirates Friday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 29-8 lead after the first quarter, connecting on 11-of-19 field goals. Rockhurst outscored the Pirates 51-37 over the final 30 minutes.

Ali Kamies posted 15 points, six rebounds and three steals. Keegan Sullivan tallied 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Macie Conway scored 13 points.

Michele Origliasso and Ella Campbell came off the bench to combine for 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Hawks shot 38.0 percent from the field (27-of-71) and 61.5 percent from the foul line (16-of-26). Rockhurst scored 21 points off 29 Pirate turnovers.

Park (6-6) made 16-of-50 field goals (32.0 percent). Angel Wiggins led the Pirates with 11 points.

Rockhurst (5-3) hosts Baker on Saturday.
