Hawks post conference road win at UMSL

The Rockhurst women posted a 62-53 victory over Missouri-St. Louis to collect their first conference win of the season Saturday in St. Louis.

The Hawks jumped out to a 31-24 lead at halftime. Rockhurst closed the game on an 11-7 run to hold off the Tritons over the final five minutes.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 14 points on six-of-nine shooting. The senior forward also tallied five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Ali Kamies posted 12 points and five rebounds. Allison McFarren added 11 points and four rebounds.

The Hawks scored 18 points off turnovers. Rockhurst shot 37.9 percent from the field (22-of-58) and 76.5 percent from the foul line (13-of-17).

USML (4-3, 2-2 GLVC) made 22-of-51 field goals (36.1 percent) and eight-of-14 free throws (57.1 percent). Jalysa Stokes led the Tritons with 11 points.

Rockhurst (2-2, 2-1 GLVC) returns home to play William Jewell on Saturday, Dec. 16.
