Women open road trip at McKendree

The Rockhurst women's basketball team returns to conference play this weekend with road games at McKendree (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.) and Missouri-St. Louis (Saturday, noon).

The Hawks (1-1, 1-0 GLVC) opened their GLVC schedule last week with a 109-87 win at home over Illinois Springfield. Sophomore guard Macie Conway led the Hawks with 31 points, earning her first GLVC Player of the Week Award.

McKendree (4-2, 2-0 GLVC) is coming off a 63-59 victory at Maryville on Monday. Junior guard Clare Breden is averaging a team-high 18.8 points per game.

Rockhurst won the most recent meeting, 85-73, in Kansas City last February. The Hawks lead the all-time series, 8-4.

UMSL (4-1, 2-0 GLVC) posted a 71-50 victory at home over Upper Iowa on Monday. Junior guard Jalysa Stokes leads the Tritons with a 19.6 scoring average.

The Hawks and Tritons split their two meetings last year with UMSL winning at home, 65-50, last February. UMSL leads the all-time series, 21-12.
