Hawks drop first conference game

The Rockhurst women dropped their first conference game of the season, falling to McKendree 69-55 Thursday night in Lebanon, Illinois.

McKendree jumped out to a 22-11 lead after the first quarter and led 55-35 after three quarters. Rockhurst cut the Bearcats' lead to 57-37 midway through the fourth quarter.

Macie Conway led the Hawks with 12 points on five-of-12 shooting. Keegan Sullivan tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Ali Kamies added nine points and four rebounds.

The Hawks scored 32 points in the paint. Rockhurst shot 31.0 percent from the field (22-of-71) and 66.7 percent from the foul line (8-of-12).

McKendree (5-2, 3-0 GLVC) made 26-of-55 field goals (40.0 percent) and 12-of-13 free throws (92.3 percent). Naomi McDaniel led the Bearcats with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

Rockhurst (1-2, 1-1 GLVC) plays at Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday.
