Hawks open conference play tonight

The Hawks host Illinois Springfield

The Rockhurst women's basketball team opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play at 5:15 tonight against the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (0-1) opened the season with an 80-57 loss to Northwest Missouri State at Municipal Auditorium on Saturday. Senior forward Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 14 points and six rebounds.

Illinois Springfield (3-0, 1-0 GLVC) is coming off an 84-76 victory over Southwest Baptist on Saturday. Junior guard Jessenia Lawson is averaging a team-high 21.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Rockhurst won the most recent meeting, 87-81, in Springfield last February. The Prairie Stars lead the all-time series, 9-8.
