Early goals carry Hawks to 4-1 road win

The Rockhurst women's soccer team scored two early goals on the way to a 4-1 victory over Southwest Baptist Sunday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Elle Kimball opened the scoring with a six-yard shot into the bottom right corner in the 14th minute. Anna Lantz knocked in a free kick from 23 yards out in the 26th minute for her seventh goal of the season.

Patti Ehrnman tallied her second goal of the season in the 58th minute on a shot from 12 yards out with an assist from Caitlyn Smith. Jacie Tottleben capped the scoring with her third goal of the season in the 70th minute.

Rockhurst outshot the Bearcats, 23-1. The Hawks posted 10 shots in first half and 13 shots in the second half.

Lantz led the Hawks with five shots and one shot on goal. Tottleben posted three shots and two shots on goal. Jacqueline Nieters tallied three shots. Sofia Hughes, Ehrnman and Kimball each had two shots.

Rockhurst (7-5-4, 5-4-3 GLVC) host William Jewell on Friday.
