Lantz scores four goals in 8-0 win over WJC

Anna Lantz scored four goals to lead the Rockhurst women's soccer team to an 8-0 victory over William Jewell Friday on Senior Night at Bourke Field.

Rockhurst, 8-5-3 overall, is currently in seventh place in the GLVC standings with a 6-4-3 league record. The Hawks have clinched a spot in the GLVC Tournament, as the bracket will be announced Sunday night.

Lantz scored three goals in the first 16 minutes to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead. The sophomore forward added her fourth goal in the 71st minute.

Elle Kimball posted two goals in the second half. Freshmen Caitlyn Smith and Sarah Gilmore scored first-half goals. Mollie Plas collected two assists. Smith, Halle Mallum, Greta Seal and Cameron Murphy each tallied an assist.

Rockhurst outshot the Cardinals, 38-1. The Hawks posted 22 shots in first half and 16 shots in the second half.

Lantz led the Hawks with six shots and four shots on goal. Kimball, Plas and Jacie Tottleben each posted four shots. Gilmore, Murphy and Hanna Jones added three shots apiece.

Rockhurst (7-5-4, 5-4-3 GLVC) host William Jewell on Friday.
