Hawks return to GLVC play against UMSL and UIS

The Hawks are 3-2 at home this season.

The Rockhurst women's basketball team returns to conference play this week. The Hawks (5-7, 0-4) host Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday (5:30 p.m.) and Illinois Springfield on Saturday (1 p.m.). 

Junior guard Keegan Sullivan leads the Hawks in scoring (17.0 pg, fourth in GLVC) and rebounding (7.3 pg, ninth in GLVC). Senior forward Molly Hummel ranks first in steals (2.8 pg), 10th (7.0 pg) in rebounding and 23rd (11.4 pg) in scoring in the GLVC.


The Hawks meet Missouri-St. Louis (3-7, 1-3 GLVC) for the first time this season. The Tritons are coming off a 91-65 loss against Parkside last Saturday. UMSL is led in scoring by sophomore guard Jalysa Stokes (13.2 pg, 14th in GLVC).

The Tritons have lost five of the last six meetings with Rockhurst with the Hawks' last win coming in 2021 with a 57-51 win on the road.


Illinois Springfield (0-12, 0-4 GLVC) plays at William Jewell Thursday night before facing the Hawks on Saturday. The Prairie Stars are led by sophomore guard Ariyah Douglas, who is second in scoring (19.2 pg) in the GLVC.


The Hawks won the last year at Springfield, 60-53, and lead the overall series, 11-8.
