Third-quarter run leads Hawks past Quincy

Rockhurst outscored Quincy 20-13 in the third quarter to pull away for a 68-60 victory Thursday night at the Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Illinois.
 
The Hawks connected on seven-of-15 field goals (46.6 percent) in the third quarter to take a 51-43 lead going into the fourth quarter.
 
Freshman Ali Kamies led the Hawks with 17 points while hitting three shots from behind the 3-point line.
 
Junior guard Keegan Sullivan posted 13 points and six rebounds. Allison McFarren collected 12 points on three-of-six 3-point shooting. Molly Hummel and Rebeca Garcia combined for 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Rockhurst scored 24 points in the paint while shooting 40.4 percent from the field (23-of-57).
 
Quincy (6-9, 2-5 GLVC) made 22-of-58 field goals (37.9 percent). Sarah Nelson led the QU Hawks with 21 points.
 
The RU Hawks moved to 7-8 and 2-5 in the GLVC. Rockhurst plays at Truman State on Saturday.
