Early goals give Hawks a 2-0 road win

Olivia Schwarzen posted a goal and an assist to lead Rockhurst to a 2-0 victory over Drury Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri.

Schwarzen scored in the 36th minute to give the Hawks an early 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Hannah Byrne.

The game's second goal came in the 40th minute from freshmen Lizzo Rosenthal with an assist from Schwarzen to make it 2-0 Hawks. Rosenthal also posted a goal on Friday against Missouri S&T, making this her second goal of the season.

Rockhurst outshot Drury 7-0 in the first half of the game and 8-5 overall.

Taylor James was back in the net for the Hawks to post two saves and her first shutout of the season.

"I am very proud of the effort by the team today," said RU coach Greg Herdlick. "We executed the game plan to perfection against a team that hadn't given up a goal all season. This is a great team win."

The Hawks (5-1-2, 4-0 GLVC) host Missouri-St. Louis on Friday.
