Herdlick named to NCAA D2 Women's Soccer Championship Committee

Greg Herdlick ranks 22nd among active coaches in Division II with 239 victories.
Rockhurst women's soccer head coach Greg Herdlick was recently named to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Women's Soccer Championship Committee as the Midwest Region representative.
 
"I am honored to serve on the national committee and support our soccer championships," said Herdlick, who served on the NCAA D-II Midwest Regional Committee from 2014-16. "I look forward to working with the regional committee for the next three years ?and placing the most qualified teams in the NCAA championships."

Herdlick will be entering his 24th season as the women's soccer coach at Rockhurst. He ranks 22nd among active coaches in Division II with 239 victories.

The committee and its representatives play a crucial part in the NCAA Tournament selection process and determining the regional and national rankings throughout the season. In addition to evaluating the tournament experience, the committee discusses on-going input regarding modifications to the game and help choose future championship sites.

The role of the regional advisory committee is to assist the national committee in the evaluation of teams throughout the season, the evaluation of potential regional sites and the recommendation for the championship.

  • Associate director of athletics Mike Koehler had his term on the NCAA Men's Soccer National Committee extended by one year by the NCAA Championships Committee.
  • Men's and Women's Tennis head coach Jamie McDonald was named to the NCAA Men's Tennis Midwest Regional Advisory Committee.
  • Baseball head coach Gary Burns has two years remaining on the NCAA Baseball Midwest Regional Advisory Committee.
