A pair of seniors powered Rockhurst to a doubleheader sweep over the Lewis Flyers Saturday on Senior Day at RU's Loyola Park. Emily Clark drove in five runs to lead the Hawks to an 11-3 win in Game One, while Josie Lindemann hit a three-run home run to give Rockhurst a 6-4 win in the second game.
Game One: RU 11, Lewis 3
Calli Wibbenmeyer and Clark combined for six hits and nine RBIs to lead the 11-hit RU attack.
- Clark drove in five runs with a three-run home run in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth.
- Anna Newcomer struck out nine and only allowed four hits over 6.0 innings.
Game 2: RU 6, Lewis 4
Lindemann drove a 1-2 pitch over the left-field fence to give the Hawks a 6-4 lead with no outs in the fifth. Wibbenmeyer and Clark opened the inning with singles.
- Clare Reinhart and Gwen Bostick gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead with RBI singles in the second.
- Newcomer held the Flyers hitless over the final three innings to get her second win of the day.
