Men win GLVC opener over Jewell

The Rockhurst men's tennis team opened the conference schedule with a 6-1 victory over William Jewell Saturday at Bennett Park in Liberty, Missouri.

Rockhurst won No. 1 and 2 doubles to pick up an early point. Joe Harris and Santiago Rodriguez won No. 1 doubles by a 7-6 (11-9) score. Louis Keiner and Semyon Tsyrenov captured No. 2 doubles, 6-1. Andres Sahagun and Brian King fell in No. 3 doubles, 7-6 (7-5).

Keiner won in No. 2 singles in three sets. Rodriguez, Cris Cequea-Rivero, Andres Sahagun and Joe Harris posted singles victories in straight sets.
