Lions shut down Hawks in GLVC Tournament

Lindenwood pulled away in the second half to post an 11-4 victory over Rockhurst in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament Friday in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Alec Heflin scored two goals in the third period to cut the Lions' lead to 5-4 at the 5:54 mark in the third period. The 10th-ranked Lions (11-3) ended the the game on a 6-0 run over the final 20 minutes.

Heflin led the 20th-ranked Hawks (8-6) with three goals on 10 shots. Sam Lindahl posted five ground balls and scored one goal on three shots.

Luke Leonard posted five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Brady Noernberg collected three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Zach Cegielski captured six faceoff wins. Hayden Harris tallied with 24 saves.
