Home runs carry Hawks to 11-2 win at Quincy

Rockhurst connected on four home runs in posting an 11-2 victory at Quincy in the first game of a conference softball doubleheader Saturday. Quincy came back to win the second game, 8-0.

Game One: RU 11, Quincy 2

Maya Gallagher, Calli Wibbenmeyer and Gwen Bostick combined for six hits and nine RBIs.

  • Gallagher hit a solo home run in the first and a two-run homer in the second.
  • Calli Wibbenmeyer lined a three-run homer in the fourth and Jayla Pierce added a solo shot in the sixth.

Game 2: Quincy 8, RU 0
Quincy held the Hawks without a hit in the five-inning run-ruled game.

  • Josie Lindemann walked twice in her two plate appearances.
  • Freshman Bre Barchak (4-3) allowed three runs on three hits over 2.0 innings.

Up Next
The Hawks (19-23, 11-13 GLVC) return home to play William Jewell next Saturday.
