Maya Gallagher hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to lead the Rockhurst softball team to a 5-4 victory over Illinois Springfield Friday in Springfield, Illinois. The Prairie Stars rallied to win the first game, 13-11.
Game One: Illinois Springfield 13, RU 11
The Prairie Stars rallied from an 8-3 deficit in the fourth inning to take a 13-8 lead in the fifth.
- Calli Wibbenmeyer led the Hawks with three hits and six RBIs. She hit a solo home run in the third, a three-run triple in the fourth and a two-run homer in the sixth.
- Freshman Emma Vodnansky hit a three-run homer in the second.
Game 2: RU 5, Illinois Springfield 4
The Hawks scored three runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Gwen Bostick and Gallagher's 12th home run of the season.
