Scoring in the late innings carried the Rockhurst softball team to a doubleheader sweep over Emporia State, 3-1 and 8-7 in eight innings, Tuesday in Emporia, Kansas.

The Hawks scored two runs in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie. Clare Reinhart walked with the bases loaded and Gwen Bostick added an RBI single in the seventh.

• Calli Wibbenmeyer led the Hawks with four hits.
• Freshman Anna Stephen shut out the Hornets without allowing a hit over the final three inning.

Game 2: RU 8, Emporia State 7
The Hawks scored six runs in the sixth to tie the score, took a 7-6 lead in the seventh and won the game with a single in the eighth.

• Shelby Winkelman singled home the winning run with two outs in the eighth.
• Maya Gallagher and Emily Clark combined for five hits and four RBIs.
