Pinch-hit single lifts Hawks past Lindenwood

Josie Lindemann hit a pinch hit walk-off single to give Rockhurst a 7-6 victory over Lindenwood in the second game of a conference doubleheader Sunday at RU's Loyola Park. The Lions edged the Hawks, 2-1, in the opener.

Game One: Lindenwood 2, RU 1

The Lions scored two runs in the first and held off a seventh-inning rally by the Hawks.

Game 2: RU 5, Lindenwood 4
Josie Lindemann singled just inside the third base bag with one out to give the Hawks a split with the 24-4 Lions.

  • The Hawks scored four runs in the third on a two-run home run by Emily Clark and a two-run double by Clare Reinhart.
  • Freshman Anna Stephen held the Lions to one hit over the final two innings to earn her third win of the season.
