Washburn sweeps Hawks in Topeka

Rockhurst dropped two games at Washburn on Wednesday in Topeka, Kansas. The Ichabods won the first game 5-1 and posted a 7-3 win in the second game.

Game One: Washburn 5, RU 1
The Ichadods' Jaycee Ginter hit a three-run home run in the sixth and held the Hawks to five hits while striking out 14 batters.

  • The Hawks scored an unearned run on a passed ball in the fifth.
  • Emily Clark doubled in the first and Gwen Bostick doubled in the fifth.

Game Two: Washburn 7, RU 3
Six of the Ichabods' 14 hits were extra-base hits. Washburn hit three run-scoring doubles in the fifth.
