First half run carries Hawks past Westminster

Rockhurst scored the first eight goals of the game on the way to a 19-8 victory over Westminster College (Utah) Friday at Bourke Field.

The Hawks dominated the first half, holding Westminster to three shots while jumping out to an 8-0 halftime lead. Addison Bradley, Christine Corbin and Logan Derosia each scored two goals in the first half. Rockhurst won the second half, 11-8.

Derosia led the Hawks with four goals and one assist. Helen Krause posted three goals and two assists. Bradley collected three goals, two assists and two ground balls

Corbin tallied eight draw controls and three goals. Dani Mabry added two goals. Mackenzie Blair tacked on seven draw controls, three caused turnovers, three ground balls, one goal and one assist..

Rockhurst finished with 36 shots and 17 draw control wins. Sydney Shindler posted four saves.
