Women close out regular season at home

Daly Sullivan is closing in on 900 career points at Rockhurst.

The Rockhurst women will close out the regular season at home this weekend against William Jewell and Truman State. The Hawks host Jewell (1-23, 0-18 GLVC) at 5:30 tonight and face Truman (17-8, 13-4 GLVC) on Senior Day at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Rockhurst (13-11, 9-9 GLVC) is sitting all alone in seventh place in the GLVC Point Rating System, which determines the seedings for the GLVC Tournament. If the Hawks finish in the top eight in the standings they would host a first-round game in the GLVC Tournament on Monday, Febraury 28.

Daly Sullivan led the Hawks with 24 points in a 60-53 victory at Illinois Springfield last Saturday. The senior guard, who ranks fourth in the GLVC with a 16.8 scoring average, has scored 896 points in her career at Rockhurst.

Jewell is coming off one of its better weekends of the season after holding a third-quarter lead over Truman and getting off to a solid start at Quincy. The Hawks posted a 71-48 win at Jewell on Jan. 4.

Truman is ranked fourth in the GLVC Point Rating System. The Bulldogs are led by junior guard Hannah Belanger, who ranks third in scoring (17.4 pg) in the GLVC.
