Second-quarter run leads Hawks past Prairie Stars

Daly Sullivan scored 14 of her game-high 24 in the first half to lead Rockhurst to a 60-53 victory at Illinois Springfield on Saturday.

Sullivan collected nine points on three 3-point field goals in the second quarter to give the Hawks a 33-21 halftime lead. The Hawks outscored the Prairie Stars 16-6 in the second quarter.

Ella Wedergren gave Rockhurst a 47-29 lead with 1:44 left in third quarter on a fast break jump shot. Springfield went on a 19-6 run to cut the Hawks' lead to 53-48 with 3:05 left to play. 

Keegan Sullivan tallied eight points, five rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots. Rebeca Garcia collected nine points on four-of-four shooting and snared seven rebounds.

Springfield made 16-of-57 shots from the field (28.1 percent). Lauren Ladowski led the Prairie Stars with 21 points and six steals.
