Free throws carry Quincy past Rockhurst

Free-throwing shooting in the second half carried Quincy to a 60-53 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night in Quincy, Illinois.

Quincy made 18-of-20 free throws, including making 17-of-20 charity shots in the second half, to win its seventh game of the season.

Rockhurst gave up a 11-2 run to open the second half as Quincy took a 39-28 lead with 3:05 left in the third quarter. Quincy went on an 11-4 run in the fourth quarter to take a 50-40 lead at the 3:52 mark.

Keegan Sullivan led the Hawks with 19 points and six rebounds. The sophomore guard went six-of-15 from the field

Daly Sullivan tallied 11 points and four rebounds. Ella Wedergren collected seven points on three-of-four shooting. Molly Hummel posted six points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.

Quincy made 19-of-51 shots from the field (37.3 percent). Maddie Spagnola led the home team with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
