Third-quarter run carries Hawks to 67-41 victory

Rockhurst scored 16 unanswered points in the second half in cruising to a 67-41 victory over the Baker Wildcats Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Keegan Sullivan scored 10 points on four baskets in the 16-0 run to give the Hawks a 48-32 lead with 1:30 left in the third quarter. Sullivan scored 14 of the Hawks' 30 points in the third quarter.

Sullivan led the Hawks with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Molly Hummel posted 13 points, six rebounds and three steals. Rebeca Garcia collected eight points and seven rebounds. Clare Diener added eight points.

Rockhurst rallied from a 23-21 halftime deficit to outscore Baker 46-18 in the second half. The Hawks closed the game on a 35-9 run.

The Hawks scored 26 points in the paint while shooting 37.3 percent from the field (22-of-59). Rockhurst made 16-of-24 free throws (66.7 percent).

Baker (5-6) made 20-of-54 field goals (37.9 percent) and hit 11 three-pointers. Leah Van Weelden the Wildcats with 11 points.

The Hawks (4-7, 0-4 GLVC) host Park on Monday, Jan. 2.
