Hawks host Maryville in GLVC opener

The Hawks tip off conference play at home.

The Rockhurst women begin Great Lakes Valley Conference play at 5:30 Monday night against the Maryville Saints at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks bring a 3-3 record into their GLVC opener with wins over Parkside, Washburn and Missouri Valley. Macie Conway, Molly Hummel, Ali Kamies and Keegan Sullivan combined for 46 points to lead Rockhurst to a 78-51 win over Missouri Valley last Tuesday.

Sullivan is fourth in scoring (16.2) and seventh in rebounding (7.7) in the GLVC. Hummel ranks 21st in scoring (11.2), 15th in rebounding (6.0), fourth in steals (2.3) and fourth in blocked shots (1.2) in the GLVC. Rebeca Garcia leads the conference in blocked shots (1.5).

Maryville (3-2, 1-0 GLVC) is coming off a 63-47 victory at William Jewell on Saturday. Senior guard Antoinette Mussorici is averaging a team-high 14.8 points per game.

Rockhurst won the most recent meeting, 69-55, in St. Louis last January. The Saints have won three of the last five meetings and lead the all-time series, 11-2.
