Hawks to face Indianapolis in GLVC Tournament

The Hawks are the No, 3 seed in the GLVC Tournament in East Peoria, Illinois.

Rockhurst will be making its 18th consecutive appearance in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament this week in East Peoria, Illinois.

The Hawks (18-6, 9-3 GLVC) earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament. The Hawks will play No. 6 seed Indianapolis (13-13, 6-6 GLVC) at 8:30 p.m. today at the EastSide Centre. Rockhurst defeated Indianapolis, 3-2, in Indianapolis on Oct. 8. Rockhurst and Indy have combined for seven GLVC Tournament titles.

Top-seeded Quincy (26-1, 11-1 GLVC) will face No. 8 Maryville (17-11, 4-8 GLVC) in the opening quarterfinal match today at 11:30 a.m. The 19th-ranked QU Hawks beat the Saints, 3-1, in St. Louis on Sept. 23.

Lewis (19-8, 8-4 GLVC) will play its quarterfinal match at 2:30 p.m. today as the No. 4 seed and will take on fifth-seeded Missouri S&T (16-8, 8-4 GLVC). Lewis won a head-to-head tiebreaker for the fourth seed by beating the Miners head-to-head at Lewis on Oct. 29, 3-1.

The first evening quarterfinal match will pit second-seeded Missouri-St. Louis (20-5, 11-1 GLVC) against No. 7 seed Illinois Springfield (12-12, 5-7 GLVC) at 5:30 p.m. Friday. UMSL beat the Prairie Stars, 3-0, in Springfield on Sept. 16.

Each of the four quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals set for 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. Friday. The championship match will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m.

New this year, all GLVC Championship Tournament action will be streamed for $10 per match or $25 for the full tournament on GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, and GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.
