Late goal gives Hawks a 2-1 win at UIS

Elle Kimball scored with less than two minutes left in the game to give the Rockhurst women a 2-1 win over Illinois Springfield Friday afternoon in Springfield, Illinois.

This was Kimball's first goal of the season and was assisted by Hannah Byrne.

Anna Lantz gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 20th minute. Lantz scored off a cross from Greta Seal, Lizzo Rosenthal also added to the play to grab an assist. Illinois Springfield tied the score in the 49th minute on a goal by Abby Dellamorte.

Rockhurst finished with eight shots. Gabby Hennessy and Lantz each had two shots to lead the Hawks.

The second-place Hawks (8-2-3, 7-1-1 GLVC) play at Lewis on Sunday at noon.
