Women open homestand against Tritons

Daly Sullivan leads the Hawks in scoring and 3-point field goals made.

The Rockhurst women's basketball team will play their next three games at home, beginning Thursday night against Missouri-St. Louis.

This is UMSL's first visit to Rockhurst since 2017. The two schools have split their last six meetings. The Hawks (9-5, 5-3 GLVC) and Tritons (11-2, 7-1 GLVC) tip off at 5:30 p.m. at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Sullivan sisters continue to lead the Hawks in most statistical categories. Daly Sullivan ranks third in scoring (17.3 pg) and first in 3-point field goals made (2.8 pg) in the GLVC. Keegan Sullivan is fifth in rebounding (7.5 pg) and 10th in assists (2.8 pg) in the GLVC.

UMSL leads the GLVC in scoring defense, allowing 50.8 points per game. The Tritons are led by senior center Kiara Stewart, who is averaging 13.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.


Rockhurst hosts Lindenwood (8-7, 5-3 GLVC) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Lions have won six of their last eight games heading into a Thursday game at Southwest Baptist.


Lindenwood is coming off a 57-47 loss at home to Truman State last Saturday. Senior guard Julia Ruzevich leads the GLVC in scoring (19.5 pg) and rebounding (11.1).

The Hawks close out their homestand on Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Illinois Springfield. The Prairie Stars (9-6, 4-5 GLVC) opened the season with a 7-2 record. Junior guard Lauren Ladowski ranks fourth in scoring (17.2 pg) and first in steals (2.9 pg) in the GLVC.
