Quick start carries Hawks to 69-55 win at Maryville

Rockhurst jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first half and shot a perfect 11-of-11 on free throws in the fourth quarter to roll to a 69-55 victory over Maryville Thursday night in St. Louis.

The Hawks took a 26-14 lead in the second quarter on a 3-pointer by Daly Sullivan. Rockhurst grew its lead to 53-36 early in the fourth quarter on another 3-pointer by Sullivan.

Daly Sullivan led the Hawks with 16 points and four 3-point field goals. Keegan Sullivan posted 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Reagan Dodd collected eight points and eight rebounds. Molly Hummel tallied eight points, five rebounds, two block and two steals. Ella Wedergren added six points, four rebounds and three assists.

Maryville connected on 15-of-61 shots from the field (24.1 percent) and 20-of-24 free throws (83.3 percent). Taylor Kirby led the Saints with 16 points.
