No. 23 Missouri Western posts 4-1 win over Hawks

The Rockhurst women's soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss to 23rd-ranked Missouri Western in the Stoney Creek Hotel Classic Sunday in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Western scored its four goals in a 10-minute span early in the second half. Kaili Campbell scored three of the Griffons' goals and posted five of Western's nine shots.

Freshman Olivia Schwarzen gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 53rd minute. Schwarzen drilled a shot into an open net from 20 yards out.

The Griffons tied the score two minutes later on Campbell's first goal. The junior forward added goals in the 59th and 65th minutes.

Schwarzen and freshman Bailey Reynolds led the Hawks with two shots apiece. Freshman Taylor James made two saves.

The Hawks (0-2) next play at Minnesota Duluth on Friday.
