Women settle for 0-0 tie at Missouri S&T

The Rockhurst women posted their second shutout of the season in settling for a 0-0 tie with Missouri S&T Sunday in Rolla, Missouri.

Rockhurst outshot the Miners, 13-9. The Hawks had three shots in the first half, seven shots in the second half and three shots in the first overtime.

Freshman Gabby Hennessy and Olivia Van Belle led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Hennessy nearly scored the winning goal when her shot hit the crossbar with 17 seconds left in regulation.

Elle Kimball, Olivia Schwarzen and Jessica Grayek each tallied two shots. Freshman Taylor James posted three saves.

Missouri S&T missed a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.

The Hawks (3-4-1, 2-1-1 GLVC) return home to play Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at 5 p.m.
