Early goal gives Hawks a 1-0 road win

Freshman Olivia Schwarzen scored an early goal to give Rockhurst to 1-0 victory over Southwest Baptist Sunday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Schwarzen drilled a shot from 33 yards out off a pass from Alex Moss in the fourth minute of the game. It was Schwarzen's second goal of the season.

Rockhurst outshot the Bearcats, 15-12. The Hawks had eight shots in the first half and seven shots in the second half.

Schwarzen, freshman Gabby Hennessy and Cameron Murphy led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Mallory Mumby added two shots. Freshman Taylor James posted seven saves.

The Hawks (2-4, 1-1 GLVC) play at Maryville on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
